"We've merged and need to rebrand three websites really quickly. Can you help?"

Challenges

When NEC bought Northgate Software Solutions, there were three key challenges. First, the existing Northgate websites need to be reinvented to work with the NEC brand. Next, all content needed to be reviewed, updated or deleted with some existing microsites being merged into the main corporate website. Finally, the work had to be completed for launch in less than 6 months.

Process

Following a content audit and site structure update, we started wireframing. The focus was on improving the UX/UI and offering multiple options to display updated content – from video and animation to text, icons, case studies and calls to action. The key pages were designed to be flexible and created in a pagebuilder. Once the new brand was agreed, this was brought to the wireframes and a full design created to maximise impact.

"The whole site was created to be flexible. The content was shifting daily and the client needed the flexibility to quickly adapt and change without losing the coherence of the site."

Results

The deadline was met. The budget was met and a highly flexible new website was the result. Since the go-live, the site has grown and changed; and because of the focus on UX/UI the structure has been able to shift and develop to match the addition of new products, new sectors and new audiences.

"“The audience has grown, the enquiries have grown and the content has changed and developed over time… this is all about flexibility, tuning the site to different needs and measuring the outcomes. The performance has been impressive”"
